Michelle and Jean-Michel Masson created Domaine Masson-Blondelet when they got married, in 1975, being the sixth generation of vine-growers and producers of pouilly fume in the family.
The estate is 21 hectares in size, which are planted on the best sites in the heart of the Appellation Pouilly-Fume (AOC) and in Sancerre (a 4-acre plot inherited from Michelle’s father).
We are vine-growers and producers of pouilly fume which means that we only sell the wine that comes from our own production, contrary to wine-merchant-maturers.
For 12 years now, our children work with us on the estate. After his degree in the viticultural high-school of Mâcon-Davayé, Pierre-François, now directs the workers team in the vineyard. He also manages the making of the wines in the cellar. His sister, Mélanie gives the hand in the cellar during the harvest and supervises the sales of the estate.
They are the seventh generation…
The whole team is 9 people in total, working as well in the vines as in the cellar.
