We accidentally stopped, my wife and I in Pouilly for lunch break in 2012, we entered randomly in your cellar and we bought wine that we didn’t know.
Same in 2013, except that it was not accidentally anymore. As we will not have the opportunity anymore to step by, I ordered 12 ‘Villa Paulus’ 2010, well arrived this morning, this wine has made the unanimity during Christmas time.

I wish you a very good vintage year.

Hello and thank you very much!
We are also pleased to work with you, I was already working with your products in Canada and in the hotel Les Aiglons in Chamonix, and that is why I keep going…
Your products are very representative of the soil and of the expression of Sauvignon that we are looking for!
About this, I also have to congratulate you for your Pouilly-Fumé Tradition Cullus 2005 that I tasted very recently and which was just tremendous!
I bought it in your shop and was impatiently waiting to taste it. The result was drawing level with my hopes: well done!
So, I thank you for this e-mail, the corkscrews and technical sheets and for encouraging us for the opening.
Keep up the good work and see you soon!

Subject: Re:Preservation / keeping of our wines / Pouilly-Fumé Villa Paulus 2005.

Good afternoon Mrs Masson,
Thank you for your answer. I followed your advices at noon today, serving a chicken with sauce and a panful of cepes with a bottle of Pouilly-Fumé Villa Paulus 2005. And we have not been disappointed.
Its colour was not that golden but its brightness is still astonishing for an “old” wine.
What most impresses in the mouth is actually the smooth and roundness (especially the smoothness) even if the wine still has the minerality, certainly attenuated from my memories (we purchased those bottles in April 2007 in your cellar in Pouilly).
Indeed, we won’t wait long to drink the 2 bottles that we still have, but there is no rush…
Thank you again. Best Regards. Arnaud RENARD 62580 FARBUS

Subject: Re: Fantastic Pouilly-Fume Villa Paulus 2011!!!

Dear Melanie,
Your English is clearly very good, my French would sound like a 4yr old speaking and your English is communication is very correct and nuanced. The entire area around Sancerre was one of the most beautiful areas we saw in a very extensive trip around France, especially the descent into Bue as we approached from the West!! Actually took my breath away. I have to admit as much as I love Sancerre wines I have really been fond of the few producers of Pouilly Fume I have tried. We had an amazing lunch at La Tour Restaurant in Sancerre and it was there that I was hooked, Serge Dagueneau, half bottle. I am so pleased that we can get the Pouilly-Fume Villa Paulus in half bottles from Chris Mclean at Rogers and Co here in Ontario. Our trip was fantastic, Normandy and Brittany to start for WW2 beaches and history, and best oysters, cider and crepes in the world, down to Muscadet with Megalith stops at Carnac and other smaller sites along the way, Savennieres, Coteaux du Layon, Chinon, Vouvray, Sancerre, Chablis, Champagne (Growers only!!), Macon and Beaujolais, Cote d’Or. Along the way we visited mostly our favourite small producers and everywhere we were treated with such kindness by all your country!!
Everywhere we observed the younger generation like you and your brother coming back to their roots, respecting the traditions of their parents, but improving with their new found knowledge! I know you must love wines from other regions of France and if I may, let me recommend some smaller growers to you: In Muscadet, one of my most favourite wines, Veronique Chereau and her daughter Aurore of Chateau du Coing and Jean Pierre Marie Luneau and his wife Marie Luneau Papin, in both cases the young taking over, Veuve Fourny in Vertus Champagne, 2 young brothers Charles and Emanuele, making incredible grower Champagne, Phillipe and Laetetia Billiot at Henri Billiot as well. We are crazy over grower champagne! The best importer in the US is a guy named Terry Theise, google his Grower Champagne Catalog on line if you are interested in an amazing list of Growers from Champagne, he only has 16 in his portfolio but they are all fantastic and different. Terry’s short book “Reading between the Wines” is also the most meaningful book I have ever read on wine and grower families. Louis Desvignes and Matthieu Lapierre in Morgon, great young guys who have taken over with their sisters! Michel Cheveau in Pouilly Fuisse area, beautiful wines!!

We love Old World Wines that express Terroir, are elegant, and have a place at the table. I prefer cool climate wines as a result. We are starting to make some good Chardonnay, Riesling and Cab Franc here in Ontario and BC in Canada but have not had the 100’s of years to figure out our Terroir as you have.
I apologize for going on so long, I was very pleased to here back from you Melanie!!
Do not feel obliged to reply, just trust you and your family have some big fans here in Ontario!!
We will tell everyone here about your wines!!

Hope to meet you someday,
Yours,
Joel

Dear Sir,

Thank you so much for your message and comment on our Pouilly-Fumé Villa Paulus 2011 !
Reading such appreciations really make us feel happy and proud for the work we put in our vines and wine.
I am very sorry for my limited English, so it is difficult for me to express you all our feelings.
But, I just wanted to say to you that this is exactly the reason why my brother and I decided to continue what our parents created : make people happy with the wines we produce.

I hope we can meet you one day in our cellar so you could try all our cuvées. Very sincerely yours, Kind regards, Mélanie Masson

Bonjour. I apologize for writing in English but my French is not very good.
I just had to let you know this is one of the most beautiful expressions of Sauvignon Blanc I have tasted.
The wine is so delicate and feminine, subtle and floral with beautiful minerality and so Old World in the very best way!
My best friend and I are huge lover‘s of Loire Valley wines and toured the entire Valley last April at this time of year. We were in Bue near Sancerre visiting Gilles Crochet at Domaine Lucien Crochet, one of our favourite Sancerre producers and I regret that we had not known of your wines at that time or we would certainly have tried to arrange a visit. I understand the winery is on it’s 7th generation of growers.
Thank you for defending the terroir and sharing such beautiful gifts with the world!

Sincerely, Dr. Joel Carter from Canada

Dear Mélanie

Once again I have great pleasure in writing to you. You will remember when we last visited your house in May 2012 we took wine to use at a wine tasting.
You recommended Pouilly-Fumé Villa Paulus 2010 to use as the best example of a Pouilly-Fumé. I did use that wine, but I also found in my cellar a few bottles of Pouilly-Fumé Les Angelots 2002.
So we tasted both wines. Both of the wines were wonderful. Everyone thought how good the Pouilly-Fumé 2002 was.
I thought it could even last a few more years
Thank you once again to give us the opportunity to buy and enjoy your wines.

Good evening gentlemen,

We were passing by Gien in March last year and we stopped in your cellar at random to taste your wines; of course we purchased a few bottles of Pouilly-Fumé.
We appreciated it so much that I just ordered again through the internet.
Well done for its quality and its fruity taste, mostly due to your choice of a reasoned biological culture.

I would like to order some, what is the price for the 2008? 2009?
Do you deliver in Paris without that mush cost?
Unfortunately I don’t have a house anymore in the area…
Thank you in advance for sending me your complete catalogue by mail or by post.

Dear Masson-Blondelet Family,
Salut and cheers! I have just finished reclining on my deck chair overlooking the golden gate bridge here outside San Francisco, California in the United States with a glass of your fantastic wine. While it is only 4 PM in the afternoon, the warm late season weather and golden sunshine encouraged a first tasting of your 2006 Les Angelots Pouilly-Fume. I deeply appreciate such a great example of the terroir and really enjoy drinking this wine. This bottle will not leave my hand with any wine left in it!” to be exact. It is so far my favorite Sauvignon Blanc vareital of the ’06 vintage. We drink a great deal of good wines from Europe thanks to our local retailer and local importers. My case was sold via “Grape Expectations” in Richmond, CA to my wine dealer “Oddlots” in Albany, CA. Thank you for your hard and skillful work! Encore, please!
I have taken a picture of the bottle in focus with the San Francisco bay and city in the background and will send it to you when developed. I really look forward to introducing this wine to my family and friends and await your ’07 vintages and those to come!
Merci, au revoir!   Yours,  Erik Engstrom

Good morning, we appreciate your wines since 1992 and in November 2006, we discovered “Les Pierres de Pierre” 2005; this wine is really interesting, with fantastic aromas reminding the perfume range from Guerlain: Acqua Allegoria, especially those aniseed or redcurrant flavoured. Well done again! Sylvie and Jean Philippe Geay-Galitre, Clermont-Ferrand.

Dear Ms. Masson,
thank you very much for providing such a good service. I recived your message on the answering machine and your e-mail note just this morning.  Fortunatly I can tell you that it is not more
necessary to ship the wine to me, because in the meantime I have found a little Destillerie & Wineshop in “Gevelsberg” (about 20 km away from Bochum) which is selling Wine from your Estate. Therefore it was much easier to get some bottles of your Pouilly Fumé Villa Paulus as I thought before.
Once again: Many Thanks! Mercy beaucoup! I will recommend your Wine-Estate and your enjoyable service at any time it’s possible.
