In 2004, Pierre-François MASSON had the opportunity to buy old vines on flint soils from the slope of Saint-Andelain. Harvested on flint, these old vines of Blanc Fumé (local name for Sauvignon Blanc) fully express their gunflint side clearly pronounced on that kind of terroir. The tense and vibrant attack gives then way to fatness and roundness
Its high minerality and its length in mouth allow a great variety of matches such as cod loin with hollandaise sauce, grilled lobster and crystallised lemon, monkfish tail with piment d’Espelette or sweetbread and truffles juice.

Vin sec, belle acidité. On le déguste facilement à l’apéritif. D’une étonnante longueur en bouche. Legeres notes florales et surtout agrumes. Une vraie belle découverte dans un plaidant domaine.

Un nom de cuvée façon Chabat pour un pouilly qui, à n’en pas douter, va donner dans la sucette au caillou!
Un nez bien sauvignon, agrumes, fruits exotiques et mineralité.
En bouche, attaque vive sur la pierre à fusil, le pamplemousse qui laisse dans un deuxième place à un peu de gras et de rondeur.
C’est long, c’est bon. Top sur rillettes de thon et chèvre!

Not a style I drink often enough and one I look forward to when visiting Europe where greater variety and value is available. Very different to Southern Hemisphere Sauvignon Blanc styles and more suited to my palate, less fruit driven, drier and different acidity and goes great with seafood, very nice indeed

More steely and mineral than “Villa Paulus” from the same year. Elevated, piercing, steely nose with gooseberries. Delicious and quite powerful on the palate with white grapefruit acidity. Mineral, stony with a persistent finish. Great with fresh crab!
